We recently surveyed more than 1000 Idealist readers of PersonalityZone (as well as Artisans, Guardians, and Rationals) to find out what they thought of 15 Summer 2009 movies - which ones they would recommend others to see, as well as which ones to skip. These results may help you pick a movie this weekend that you will like - as well as find a movie that your date or friends of other temperaments will also enjoy. There are a few that, depending on the temperament of your companion(s), you may want to postpone for another time, as not all movies were enjoyed equally by all temperaments or by both men and women. Several movies stood out as clear winners, no matter the temperament or gender of the rater: Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, Start Trek, and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen rate a solid "thumbs up" by all. The Hangover is another good choice, unless you happen to be going to the theater with a Rational female. Up is a strong choice for all Idealists. If you're going out with "the girls", The Proposal is a good choice when leaving the guys behind (and any Rational female friends will probably want to stay behind with them); a good choice for "the guys night out" is Public Enemies.

The next group represents movies that scored in the middle of the pack. Most Idealists enjoyed these movies enough that they would recommend them either as a back up choice at the theater or to watch when they come out on video.

The final group scored at the bottom, you might want to consider another activity, or getting a DVD. Bottom line: looks like you want to avoid Cheri and I Love You, Beth Cooper.
